Aaron began singing early in life, but only started taking music seriously when he was around 12 years old.
He was 12 when he wrote his first song and he remembers thinking “this is where it is at”!
His first love was country music, thanks to campfires, guitars, and great country music with the family.
In 2003 A.J. made his first EP and achieved marginal success with airplay in Canada. Producer, Chris Rolin (Rick Tippe) from BC produced the EP and the 1st single off it was called “Dream and Write A Book.”
Aaron put his own young band together and starting touring around Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan.
The band needed material to play, and Aaron was able to write music that the band enjoyed playing and music that fans where coming out to see. Aaron was 17 at the time.
In 2004 Aaron met his mentor Miles Wilkinson. It was just by chance that Miles caught an Open Mic when Aaron was playing a few of his original tunes. Miles was in Edmonton working on another artist’s album at the time and since then Miles has made it possible for Aaron to meet and write with some of Nashville’s top song writers over the past four years. Now in 2008, Aaron has over 100 songs in his library. A lot of them he wrote by himself and the others he wrote with writers on both sides of the borders. AJ considers himself very fortune to have co-written with the following writers in Nashville and Canada: |
